Whispering Pines was once a peaceful lakeside retreat tucked away in the forests of upstate New York. Today, it’s a hotspot for paranormal investigators after multiple guests reported disturbing activity during their stays.
👻 The History
Built in the 1920s, Whispering Pines was a summer home for a wealthy family with ties to spiritualism. After a tragic fire in 1946 took the lives of the youngest daughter and housemaid, the property was abandoned for decades.
👁️ The Experiences
In 2019, new owners attempted to restore the property into a bed and breakfast—but guests began reporting:
- Disembodied whispers in the hallways
- Cold spots in the attic where the fire started
- Apparitions of a woman in period clothing near the staircase
One paranormal team even captured EVP of a voice crying, “I didn’t mean to…” in the burned attic.

Paranormal Soup featured this case in a special 2021 episode. Using a spirit box, we received chilling responses:
“Trapped… ashes… can’t leave…”
